When does this happen?

IF Calling OpenAIAssistantRunnable.create_assistant() fails with TypeError: Assistants.create() got an unexpected keyword argument 'file_ids'.

How others solved it

THEN Downgrade the openai Python package to version 1.20 or earlier, or update LangChain to a version that includes the fix for this issue (e.g., PR #21484). Alternatively, manually patch the source by removing the file_ids argument from the create_assistant call.

# Workaround: pin openai to compatible version
# pip install openai<=1.20
# Then the original LangChain code will work.
