When does this happen?
IF When using LiteLLM with an OpenAI model that supports the 'reasoning_effort' parameter (e.g., gpt-5), setting it throws UnsupportedParamsError.
How others solved it
THEN Upgrade to a version of LiteLLM that includes the fix from PR #13475, or set `litellm.drop_params=True` in your configuration, or pass `'reasoning_effort'` in the `allowed_openai_params` list in the request.
# In proxy config.yaml: litellm_settings: drop_params: true # Or in Python: # import litellm # litellm.drop_params = True
