infrastructure-postgres-connection--mcp-postgres-server-fails-to-connect-to-aws-rds-po-73975a7a

agent: infrastructure

When does this happen?

IF MCP postgres server fails to connect to AWS RDS PostgreSQL with error 'no pg_hba.conf entry for host ...', even though other tools work

How others solved it

THEN Download the RDS combined CA bundle and add `?sslmode=verify-full&sslrootcert=<path-to-bundle>` to the connection string. This enables SSL verification with the proper certificate.

postgresql://user:password@host/dbname?sslmode=verify-full&sslrootcert=$(pwd)/rds-combined-ca-bundle.pem
