When does this happen?
IF ReadTimeout errors occur when exporting spans to Langfuse Cloud (host='cloud.langfuse.com') with message: 'HTTPSConnectionPool(host='cloud.langfuse.com', port=443): Read timed out. (read timeout=5s)'.
How others solved it
THEN Increase the client-side timeout by setting the environment variable `LANGFUSE_TIMEOUT` to a higher value (e.g., 30 seconds) or passing the `timeout` argument when initializing the Langfuse client. Reduce the batch size of spans sent using `LANGFUSE_FLUSH_AT` (e.g., 64). If using OpenTelemetry exporters, set `OTEL_EXPORTER_OTLP_TIMEOUT` and `OTEL_EXPORTER_OTLP_TRACES_TIMEOUT` to 30000 ms. Enable debug logging with `LANGFUSE_DEBUG="True"` for further diagnostics. These adjustments mitigate network latency and slow server responses.
import os os.environ["LANGFUSE_TIMEOUT"] = "30" # or from langfuse import Langfuse langfuse = Langfuse(timeout=30)
