IFWhen using PyTorch's DistributedDataParallel to wrap a Hugging Face model that has a generate method (e.g., TrOCR), calling model.generate() raises AttributeError because DDP does not expose the generate method.

Directly use model.module.generate(inputs) or use HuggingFace Accelerate's accelerator.unwrap_model(model) to retrieve the underlying model and then call generate.
