IFIn distributed inference with KubeRay, quantized models (AWQ, GPTQ) fail because CUDA_VISIBLE_DEVICES is incorrectly overridden to an empty string, while non-quantized models work.
THENExplicitly set the CUDA_VISIBLE_DEVICES environment variable for each Ray worker pod to the correct GPU indices (e.g., CUDA_VISIBLE_DEVICES=0 for worker 0). This prevents the override and allows quantized model inference to proceed.
